CLAYTON CORLEY SR.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Clayton is an author/poet, and in 2008 he founded the award-winning internet program, Spotlight On Jazz & Poetry, which he also hosts and produces. He also hosts the Spotlight Conversations Podcast.

He’s a retired, 42-year veteran Respiratory Care Practitioner where he worked at a hospital in the neighborhood where he was raised. He takes pride in working with adults and children alike. He’s also active politically as an elected committeeman in his West Philadelphia community. He’s driven to raise the awareness of the community in the history of the arts in general with a concentration on jazz and poetry. Tackling the problem of literacy in our community, however, is of the utmost importance.

Clayton created SOJPINC. to better the lives of underserved children in our community and foster the vitality of the arts for all. We will focus on literacy programs, building audiences for the arts, quality entertainment concentrating on the genres of jazz and poetry, both virtual and via annual “LIVE” events.
